ATLAS

The Atlas District exists solely for the residency of noncitizens who work in Meridian City. The district extends from the Artifex Hills in the eastern desert, all the way to the heart of the Artifex Mountains which is a lush jungle rainforest. 
 

Its proximity to the city makes the commute for noncitizens much more manageable, and residents do not have to pass through perimeter security on the canyon bridge every day. Often, those living in the district have other living quarters with family in the Faultlands and might only spend a few days at a time here. 

Housing in this district is very affordable but very minimal in terms of amenities. In fact, over half of the available spaces don't even have all their walls. Fortunately the weather is generally very consistent and there isn't much need for heating and cooling or protection from wind. Animals and bugs certainly pose a problem however.

This area has also become a hotspot for Meridianites looking to "get away" and often consider a trip to the Atlas District to be a time to unplug and get back to the basics.
